Two of the best countries in women’s football will face off later this year.
The United States will face England in an international friendly in October and it has recently made history. The game sold out faster than any scheduled women’s soccer game.
USWNT star Alex Morgan only needed one emoji when she saw the news on Twitter.
It promises to be a match with lots of fireworks, especially since it will be played in front of 90,000 people.
It’s already been a huge year for both teams. England have just won the European Championship against Germany on Sunday, while the United States officially qualified for the 2023 World Cup just a few weeks ago.
Funny enough, this will be the first two-game match between the two countries this year.
The USMNT will also face England, but it will not be an international friendly. The two countries will face off in the 2022 World Cup, which kicks off in November.
We’ll have to see if USA can win those two matches, especially the one at Wembley.
