The performer, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, was arrested on Monday at his home in Atlanta. He is one of 28 people facing racketeering charges in Fulton County, Georgia. Prosecutors say the gang committed several murders and shootouts in about a decade.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the bail motion was filed on Friday. In it, Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steele, said his client had spent the past four days in isolation “like he’s the forgotten man, alone in the world,” according to this and other local news reports.

The movement is demanding better conditions and claims the overhead lights are on 24 hours a day, making it difficult for Williams to sleep, the paper said. Williams’ lawyers also said he was served “inedible” food and was prevented from exercising, showering or socializing with anyone other than his lawyers.

Williams is still being held in the Cobb County Jail, awaiting a bail hearing in Fulton County Superior Court.

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office said Williams is being held in administrative solitary confinement for his own safety and that the lights are being left on so officers can check and make sure he is okay, news outlet WSB-TV reported.

On Tuesday, Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis announced the charges. Prosecutors say that in late 2012, Williams and two others founded Young Slime Life, a violent criminal street gang commonly known as YSL and linked to the Bloods national gang.

The 88-page indictment, filed Monday in Fulton County, Georgia, cites lyrics from several music videos as evidence and accuses alleged gang members of committing violent crimes in order to raise money for the Atlanta gang, advance its reputation and increase its power and territory. It also alleges that Young Thug rented a car that was used in the gang murder.

Steele, the rapper’s attorney, previously told news outlets that “Mr. Williams committed no crime” and he will “fight to the last drop of his blood to exonerate him.”

Rapper Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, was jailed in Atlanta on Wednesday on racketeering charges.
