NAGASAKI – The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF) Blue Impulse aerobatic team decorated the skies over Nagasaki in giant circles of smoke on September 22 during a training run for an exhibition marking the opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen’s Nagasaki high-speed train line the following day.

On September 23, six team jets will depart from ASDF’s Tsuiki Air Base and fly along the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen route between Takeo Onsen Station in Takeo City in Saga Prefecture and the station. from Nagasaki. When they reach Nagasaki, they plan to demonstrate for about 20 minutes starting at 1:30 p.m. above Nagasaki Station and Mount Inasa, although the schedule may change depending on weather conditions. .

Many residents rolled their eyes skyward as the jets flew over the city for training on September 22. The Blue Impulse team is based at Matsushima Air Base in Miyagi Prefecture, northeast Japan. The team has added excitement to many events including the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
