Boss Fight Books is known as the publisher of several deep-dive into beloved video games, from Metal Gear Solid to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, each written by mega-fan authors, writers and developers, often with interviews with the people who created the games.
And Boss Fight just announced their next subject: GoldenEye 007, the James Bond classic N64 that’s been rumored for a remake for some time now. Look, we’re not saying that’s further proof! We are simply saying that the evidence, however circumstantial, is mounting.
But let’s not spoil this exciting announcement with speculation – The GoldenEye 007 Boss Fight book, written by frequent contributor and author Alyse Knorr, will feature a ton of new, original developer interviews alongside academics, developers, experts and of fans, from GoldenEye director Martin Hollis and composer Grant Kirkhope to DOOM creator John Romero.
GoldenEye 007 (the book) is currently fundraising on Kickstarter, where it has already reached its initial goal of $2,500, and now has its (golden) eye on ambitious goals like stickers, bookmarks, and a collection of monthly issues of the Unwinnable cultural magazine from 2021.
The book is fully finished and the hardcover edition (which includes behind-the-scenes footage, a bonus chapter and a special cover) is currently in the layout phase. Paperbacks should start shipping in September 2022 and hardbacks in December, but if you can’t wait, the eBook edition will ship to backers in July.
