A stylish New York-based fashion house is moving to The Galleria. Lafayette 148the familiar female-focused (and female-run) brand is set to open on Level 1 of the Galleria near Neiman Marcus this summer, according to an announcement.
Fans around the world have flocked to the brand – named after the address where the company was founded in New York’s trendy SoHo – because it reflects an unmistakably New York sensibility. Looks are tailored yet relaxed, hip yet classic, and decidedly urban, and include ready-to-wear denim, dresses, casual, formal, bags, accessories, and shoes.
Founded by Deirdre Quinn, Shun Yen Siu and Ida Siu, the brand now has a headquarters in Brooklyn’s Navy Yard, with its own workshop and production facilities. These one-stop components make the brand a rarity in the industry. In short, all parts are made in-house, from initial sketch to final design and in-store shelf presentation.
This Galleria outpost marks Lafayette’s 148 first presence in Texas.
“The addition of Lafayette 148 New York further strengthens our strong collection of luxury offerings that can only be found at The Galleria,” Chris Lane, Chief Marketing Officer of The Galleria, said in a statement. “With the arrival of this dynamic, first-to-market brand, there is an even more compelling reason to visit and enjoy.”
More recently, Lafayette 148 launched a new line of outerwear that is already creating buzz.
