Driver Plunges Down Hollywood Hills Embankment

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA – A woman is lucky to be alive today after her vehicle plunged down a 20ft embankment and rolled over, landing near a home in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters rescued the woman and evacuated the nearby home on Wednesday.

“Firefighters and paramedics transported an elderly woman to a local hospital in fair condition,” said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The crash happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of North Deronda Drive, Prange said.

It is not immediately clear what prompted the driver to dive down the embankment. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, according to Prange.

No other injuries were reported.

It’s unclear whether the house next door was structurally compromised in the accident, Prange added.
