Liverpool fans have never had the chance to see towering striker Taiwo Awoniyi play for Jurgen Klopp’s men in competitive football – a reality some may regret after the Nigerian opened his goalscoring account in the English top flight with the winning goal in a 1-0 win against West Ham.

The striker amassed an impressive tally from his last spell before agreeing a return to England, scoring 15 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances for Union Berlin last season.
