Free Basketball Consolation Meals : basketball consolation meals

Papa Gino’s and D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches, two famous New England-based restaurants, donated more than two million basketball consolation meals after the Celtics lost in the NBA Finals. The restaurants hoped to assuage the grief of Celtics fans who were invested in the team winning the championships, however, the restaurants were prepared in case the Celtics lost.

After the loss, Papa Gion’s and D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches offered a free small cheese pizza or free small sandwich to all registered Rewards members of the respective restaurants only on June 20. CEO of both companies, Deena McKinley, said, “We hope this surprise gift helps ease the sting for local basketball fans and we look forward to celebrating future wins together.”
