An excellent day’s work and minutes in the legs for those who need it today. Not to mention, goals for Haaland and De Bruyne.

After today, we look towards next Thursday’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium!
Who will play in our Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool on Thursday?
It may not be quite today’s mix of youth and experience but there’s no doubt some of those younger players involved will have impressed Pep today.
As Natalie has just said while wrapping up on Matchday Live, best of luck to Julian Alvarez tomorrow.
He’s been in exceptional form for Argentina at the World Cup and is now just 90 minutes from being a World Champion.
City fans all over the world will be Argentina fans on Sunday!
1 – Jadel Katongo 97%
2 – Rico Lewis 97%
3 – Ilkay Gundogan 96%
The Blues never waste the ball!
Jadel Katongo and Shea Charles impressed me and it seems Paul Dickov and Shaun Goater felt the same.
Dickov: I have to give a shoutout to the back four. To keep a clean sheet against this opposition is amazing. They looked like senior players. They were vocal and you could hear them shouting at the senior players to get back into position.
Goater: The passing from out of defence was neat and tidy.
Dickov: They were so composed on the ball. They didn’t panic and didn’t get flustered. You can see they’ve come through this fantastic academy system. I thought they were outstanding.
A goal and an assist from City’s talismanic midfielder handed De Bruyne an ideal return from the World Cup.
The 31-year-old was often a thorn in Girona’s side with teasing passes, strong runs and his ability to maintain possession in tight areas.
Craig Pawson blows as we hit 90 minutes and it’s the end of this friendly. Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland win it for the Blues.
We’ll have full reaction on Matchday Live from Shaun Goater, Michael Brown and Paul Dickov at the top of this page.
Stick around because Pep Guardiola will also be speaking to us.
Girona look to have one back but Vallejo is deemed offside. An escape!
Ortega Moreno with an excellent tip over the bar! His shot stopping has been immaculate since he arrived at the Club in the summer.
