New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….

The original story (published September 19, 2022) follows:

At their annual event on September 7, Apple unveiled the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple has undoubtedly raised the bar this year, especially with the new iPhone 14 Pro series, which is powered by the fastest chipset A16 Bionic, as well as a new camera system.

Across the iPhone 14 series, Apple has brought groundbreaking safety features, including collision detection, which can now identify a serious car accident and automatically call emergency SOS services.

Overheating of iPhone 14 and 14 Pro devices

However, several iPhone 14 and 14 Pro users have complained that even with minimal usage, their devices overheat or get hot (1,2,3,4,5,6,seven).

It seems that some iPhone 14 Pro Max users are also experiencing a similar issue.

Due to this problem, some iPhone owners claim that their handsets constantly heat up even when they are not running any CPU/GPU demanding applications. Others claim that it warms up slightly.

This heating is usually generated by the right side of the camera bump or the top left corner of the iPhone screen. It then radiates to the sides and users can feel it all over the front of the screen.

One iPhone owner said restarting the device solved the overheating issue, while another user suggested turning off the Always-On Display.

Mine iPhone 14Pro Max gets very hot while charging and using it at the same time. Even without charging, just browsing the webpage, the phone itself will feel hot. Is this normal?

Hi, I have a ton of iPhones in my family that use different chargers around the house. I set up my 14 Pro today with no problem. Everything is perfect except whatever charger I use, the phone gets exceptionally hot. So hot, in fact, that I get a message that the phone has stopped charging due to overheating. Anyone have this problem?

Additionally, some users claim that a new iPhone will likely run hotter and use more power to load updates for a few days, at least until things stabilize.

Luckily, it appears the problem is not widespread, so potential buyers shouldn’t be discouraged from purchasing the new iPhone 14 series.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for further developments and updating the article as something noteworthy arises.
