Danger! host Mayim Bialik updates her social media followers on her health after testing positive for COVID-19.
The star announced her diagnosis via her official Instagram account on Monday, then directed people to the Instagram account for her. Bialik Distribution podcast, where she offered more details about her symptoms. Bialik wrote in her caption that she is both vaccinated and boosted.
“It’s very, very exhausting,” she said of COVID. “The exhaustion is very particular. I had mononucleosis in college, and exhaustion hits like this, where you can’t be awake. You may try to be awake, but all of a sudden you need to sleep.
Representatives for Danger! did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Bialik had alternated with fellow host Ken Jennings on the venerable quiz series, which had already finished taping its final season.
In her post, the 46-year-old Flower alum went on to say that she “felt a whole load of regret that I ever took off my mask, ever, in the world, like even outside.” She continued: “I’m just saying this: I feel a lot of fear. Like why did I never go out? Why did I think everything was fine, ever? »
Bialik added that she was immunocompromised, as she suffered from asthma and thyroid issues, and also mentioned that she felt chest tightness. “It’s no joke,” she said of the symptoms.
On Tuesday, she posted a follow-up video update to her podcast account, where she said she “still didn’t have a ton of energy” but her condition had improved. “I feel a little better,” Bialik said. “More traffic jams. A little less exhausted yesterday, which was nice not having to sleep as much as I wanted to sleep.
Bialik said her 16-year-old son, the eldest of two children, is still battling COVID-19 as well.
