Jude Law’s banner Riff Raff Entertainment has hired former media lawyer and film and TV investor Stephen Fuss as CEO, while receiving a multi-million dollar capital injection from the venture firm -Calculus Capital investment.
The new investment will allow Riff Raff to make more new hires, acquire premium intellectual property and attach top screenwriters to the projects, the company announced Wednesday. The deal follows Brian Oliver and Bradley Fischer’s New Republic Pictures signing a first-look film and TV deal with the Jude Law and Ben Jackson-led banner.
In 2018, Fuss established StargrovePictures as a new venture capital fund for UK creative industries. As a media attorney, Fuss has advised Warner Bros., HBO, and Sony Pictures, among others. And he’s overseen more than $750 million invested in film and TV projects, including major studio shots like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Descendants, The Maze Runner and brooklyn.

With the goal for the company to both create film and television content from prestige and as an incubator for exciting new writing and directing talent, this is an incredible opportunity for me to attract top-notch intellectual property and continue to attract exciting talent to projects,” Fuss said in A declaration.
Law’s banner has credits that include real things, the thriller directed by Kenneth Branagh Detective and Sky Captain and the world of tomorrowwith Law, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow.

With many projects in various stages of development in film and television, we look forward to continuing to break the mold in entertainment with exciting new talent and compelling stories,” Law and Jackson added in their own statement.
The latest investment deal for Riff Raff was arranged by CAA Media Finance.
