The SEC has produced some incredible quarterbacking talent over the past few years and the best one could end up taking their team to the conference title game — or even the college football playoffs.
So who are the best SEC quarterbacks heading into 2022? According to SEC Network analyst Matt Stinchcomb, there are plenty of good ones.
In a recent segment for the SEC Network, Stinchcomb ranked his top five SEC quarterbacks heading into 2022. The top two spots are Alabama’s Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and the MVP of the Georgia national title holder, Stetson Bennett.
From there, Stinchcomb’s list gets a bit more controversial. He yields third place to Hendon Hooker of Tennessee, followed by Will Levis of Kentucky. Arkansas starter KJ Jefferson gets fifth on his roster.
As with any quarterback ranking, there was some controversy in the comments:
“So the QB with nearly 5000 passing yards last season returning for his 3rd year in the @HailStateFB system and was 2nd behind the @HeismanTrophy winner in passing yards in the SEC is not part of the top 5.. you are bad at your job lol,” one fan replied.
“It’s a joke that we don’t have Will Rogers,” wrote another.
“So the best QB is based on how many wins TEAM had a year ago? Got it,” said a third fan.
Who do you think are the best quarterbacks in the SEC?
