About Mohammad Aqra:
Mohammed Aqra is a Jordanian American entrepreneur, born and raised in New York. He graduated from Wright State University with a dual degree in international trade and international business law. His connection to his Arab roots and the Middle East prompted him to move to Dubai to fulfill his dream and help shape the fashion scene in the Arab region by developing the creative economy sector in the 22 Arab countries. He sits on the board of various companies and specializes in investment, fintech and business consulting. In 2018, he joined the Arab Fashion Council as Head of Strategic Partnerships, where he demonstrated excellent skills to be appointed Chief Strategy Officer in 2019 at age 25, making him one of the youngest to occupy such an important role for an international authority. Her role at the Arab Fashion Council includes developing with the Board of Directors short and long term strategies to meet the execution of the Council’s mission. His department also supports the growth of regional designers by setting up international collaborations with global companies such as Microsoft and Mattel.

Additionally, Aqra oversees all partnerships for Arab Fashion Week, which has become one of the top five fashion weeks in the world.

In 2020, Mohammed Aqra launched “A Thread 4 Cause”, an emergency network of fashion designers, in partnership with the Dubai Health Authority to support the health sector during the outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic, by providing Locally produced PPE, later to be honored with a certificate of appreciation for their efforts and contribution from the Dubai Health Authority.

In January 2021, Aqra co-founded Men’s Arab Fashion Week, which achieved considerable global success upon its launch for the first time in the history of the Arab world.
