#SouthgateOut is currently trending nationwide after England’s dreadful performance vs Italy

England fans believe it’s time for Gareth Southgate to leave after Friday’s 1-0 loss to Italy in the Nations League.

Giacomo Raspadori’s second-half effort was enough to condemn England to relegation to League B and a third defeat in 2022.

The Three Lions are winless in their last five matches and it is their worst run since June 2014.

Southgate approached from the other side to thank them for their full time support and he was booed by those inside the San Siro.

England face Germany on Monday, which will be their last game before the start of the World Cup in November.

One person commented: ‘An ignorant manager is allowed to waste another golden generation.’

Another said: ‘So many creative technical players and Southgate trying to play that boring ball mark.

A third tweeted: “I saw someone say England under Southgate are like a fast car in traffic and honestly I think there’s no better way to describe them than that. “

While someone put: “He took us as far as he could, that’s pretty obvious.”

Southgate signed a contract last November which runs until 2024.

He helped England reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018 and the final of Euro 2020.

Last June he said: “I won’t stay longer than my welcome. I’m always going to have situations where people are going to disagree with the selection.

“We have done a good job for the team. We will continue to improve the team and we are also developing young players who will leave England in a good position for a long time.”

England are in Group B of the World Cup, alongside Iran, the United States and Wales.

Their first match is against Iran on November 21.
