TBS will no longer air dating series The big Dthe decision coming a few weeks before the scheduled premiere.
The unscripted show, hosted by the bachelorette former JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, were cut as they were set to debut on July 7, a network rep says The Hollywood Reporter.
“We are evaluating our schedule to ensure we have the right mix of content to support our network strategies,” the TBS spokesperson said in a statement. “We are grateful to JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers and the executive producers of Big d for their partnership throughout the process.
The project was first announced in March 2021, with production underway in Costa Rica at the time. The 10 Hour Series, from the creators of VH1 Naked dating and MTV Are you the chosen one?was to feature 10 recently divorced couples exploring potential romance with the other cast.
It comes as Warner Bros. Discovery continues to make decisions about company personnel and network rosters after the April merger. Earlier this month, THR reported that JJ Abrams’ series Demimonde had been passed over at HBO due to budget concerns.
Fletcher and Rodgers are one of ABC’s recent success stories Bachelor franchise, having met during his season of the bachelorette which aired in 2016. The couple, who married last month, previously hosted the CNBC show Notepad and Paramount Network The fittest couples.
Representatives for Fletcher and Rodgers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
