Brad Pitt’s new movie titled High-speed train is now exclusively in theaters for the next few months before heading to Netflix as part of the pay-1 deal. Here’s an estimate of when it will be for those in the US, India, and other regions.

Based on a Japanese novel, the action-comedy features a massive cast and is about a man tasked with fetching a briefcase. Simple isn’t it? Well no. He’s actually on a train full of assassins and other bad guys.

Alongside Pitt in the film are Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry and Andrew Koji.

The film was released in theaters on August 5, 2022, and received mixed reviews from critics.

Now the best way to watch High-speed train is on the big screen but if you’re going to wait, High-speed train will be among the first major rivals for a new Sony deal with Netflix in the US and will also come to Netflix India.

When High-speed train be on Netflix?

Details around the first window with Sony haven’t been fully fleshed out, so we don’t have an exact date yet.

However, we can use their previous agreement with Starz to provide a rough estimate of when Bullet Train will be on Netflix.

Our research shows that Sony films before 2022 went to Starz between 150 and 223 days after their theatrical release.

So far we’ve seen smaller Sony movies hitting Netflix in 2022 around 120 days after release, but Unexplored took 168 days. If so with High-speed trainit will be available on January 20, 2023.

To be sure, we currently expect that High-speed train will be on Netflix between December 2022 and the end of February 2023.

It will then be available on Netflix for a total of 18 months before moving to Disney and in that case it will likely be heading to Hulu. As a rough estimate, it will be around the summer of 2024.

We’re keeping track of those additions here for a full breakdown of all the Sony movies coming to Netflix under this first-window deal. Unexplored and Morbius are part of the first wave of Sony movies coming to Netflix. Other titles like Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse have also been confirmed to eventually come to Netflix US.

Will other Netflix regions get Bullet Train?

The likely answer to this question is yes, although we don’t have specifics. Netflix in multiple regions receives new Sony movies in a timely manner, although Netflix and Sony do not promote any deal.

Netflix India routinely receives new Sony movies 120 days after release, which means you’ll see the movie added on December 3, 2022.

Netflix Canada and the UK receive Sony films 2 years after their theatrical release. Concrete example, fantasy island, which was released in February 2020, landed on Netflix CA and UK recently in January 2022. This also applies to regions such as Belgium, Greece, Japan, Poland, Spain, Sweden and South Africa.

This would mean that Netflix in those regions will see High-speed train added in 2024.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the High-speed train release date on Netflix.
